Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in performing arts (now known as Maureen O'Hara), would put her in America's eyes, into the class of child prodigies. But for a young Irish girl who was surrounded by gifted parents and extended families, these characteristics were a natural. Maureen was born in this cosy refuge on the 17th of August 1920. Her family was her parents and family members. She was the daughter of Marguerita Lulburn FitzSimons was a skilled contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based firm and also owned a stake of "The Shamrock Rovers," famous Irish soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons came second from a household of six FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara rounded off the gorgeous family. Maureen loved playing rough sports when she was a kid and was very proficient at them. Her passion for sports was matched by an equally natural talent of performing. This is why she won the majority of the Feis Awards for her dramatic and acting performances in her home country. Her acceptance at the Abbey Theater by age 14 She then pursued her dreams of operatic and classical singing and theater.
